EZ Steer Outboard to Outboard Installation

EZ Steer is a device for connecting two outboards or an outboard and inboard/outboard on the stern of the same boat; it is manufactured by MarineTech Products. Like the tie-rod on an automobile, the system ties a secondary engine to the primary engine, so that when the primary engine is moved to change the boat's course, the secondary engine duplicates the movement of the primary, without the need for a synchronized steering system for both.

Instructions

    • 1

Slide the two large clamp-straps through the slots on one side of the large L-shaped bracket.

    • 2

Set the L-bracket in place on the outboard's exhaust tunnel so that the bracket wraps around the exhaust tunnel.

    • 3

Slide the vinyl covers over the clamp-straps. Wrap the clamp straps around the outboard's exhaust tunnel.

    • 4

Install the ends of the clamp-straps into the clamp's screw-in fittings. Tighten the screws with a screwdriver.

    • 5

Install the clamp-straps in the small L-bracket. Fit the small bracket to the auxiliary outboard and install the vinyl covers over the clamp-straps. Fasten the clamp straps to the auxiliary outboard.

    • 6

Push down on the female quick-connect fittings on the L-brackets and snap the male quick-connect fittings on the tie rod into the fittings on the L-brackets.
