How to Wire a Trim Motor for a Boat
A boat's trim and tilt unit tilts the outboard motor so that the boat is driven through the water as levelly as possible, regardless of the distribution of passengers or gear aboard. The trim and tilt unit uses a hydraulic piston to trim the outboard up and down. The pump that moves the hydraulic fluid into and out of the piston is electric, with self-contained wiring. If the pump goes bad, the plug-and-play wiring simplifies its replacement.
