How to Clean a Ranger Boat Carpet

The Ranger boat company produces more than 40 different models of fishing boats across five series, including models that cater to bass, saltwater and multi-species fishing. The company uses standard, marine-grade carpet to cover the decks, steps and rod storage compartments of its watercraft. Ranger offers carpet in ash or beige shades, but cleaning procedures remain the same across colors.

Instructions

    • 1

Sweep the entire surface of your Ranger boat's carpet with a dry broom. Get into the crevices and corners with a handheld cleaning brush, freeing any loose dirt or debris. Collect the dirt and debris in a dust pan and dispose of them.

    • 2

Equip a wet-dry shop vac with a brush nozzle and vacuum all of the boat's carpeted surfaces. Vacuum in slow strokes to suck up as much dirt as possible. Attach a detailing nozzle to the vacuum and suck up any dirt from hard-to-reach carpeted areas, such as underneath chairs and around the corners of rod storage compartments.

    • 3

Create a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 liter of water in a spray bottle. Spray the entire surface of the carpet with this solution.

    • 4

Saturate any stains with the vinegar solution and scrub them with the handheld brush. Apply pressure as you scrub to free any excess residue. Pour straight vinegar on stubborn stains to help loosen residue from carpet fibers. Let the carpet sit for about 20 minutes.

    • 5

Equip your hose with a high-pressure nozzle and slowly spray the entire surface of the carpet, rinsing it clean of the vinegar.

    • 6

Vacuum the Ranger boat's carpet once again with the wet-dry shop vac, using the brush nozzle attachment. Allow the carpet to air dry.
