The Boat
-
1
Spray boat cleaner on the cowling of the outboard motor and also on the water line. Scrub with a soft scrub brush to remove any dirt or scum. Wash the propeller stem and propeller with mild soapy water. Rinse the entire outboard with a hose.
-
2
Wet the sidewalls and back of the boat with a hose and apply boat cleaner while the areas are still wet. Scrub with a soft brush, paying special attention to the area around the waterline. Rinse with the hose and dry everything with clean towels to restore the boat's shine.
-
3
Check areas where the bow of the boat meets the bow roller on your trailer, and where the boat rubs against docks and jetties. Put on a pair of disposable latex gloves, pour a little acetone on a cloth and scrub these areas thoroughly. Wash with soapy water, hose everything down and towel dry.
-
4
Use spray glass cleaner on any plastic or glass areas of your bass boat's console and wipe clean with a cloth or paper towels. Mix a small amount of dish detergent with water and use the solution on wooden areas of the boat. Rinse and pat try with a fresh towel.
The Trailer
-
5
Wet the entire boat trailer with the hose. Mix car shampoo and hot water in a bucket and sponge down the trailer, paying close attention to the wheel wells, which will have accumulated road dirt. Scrub everything clean.
-
6
Clean the step pads carefully to remove any grease that may have accumulated on the pads.
-
7
Scrub the outer walls of the tires with a brush and car shampoo. Scrub the rims and wheel covers to remove any dirt. Hose down the boat trailer and use a chamois to remove any remaining water.
