Step-by-Step Instructions for a Northwest Territory Canopy

If you enjoy sunny, outdoor activities like picnics, going to the beach or even camping, then you may want to think about investing in a canopy, such as the Northwest Territory canopy. These are tent-like structures that can be quickly installed and provide more shade and comfort than any beach umbrella. These particular canopies are designed to be portable so they can be set up very quickly.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the canopy from its box and select the area you would like to put it up.

    • 2

Place the canopy material on the ground, underside up, with the pole holes facing up. Insert the two roof poles so that they form an "X" shape. Secure the ends of the poles with the ties on the corners of the canopy.

    • 3

Turn canopy over and fit one of the leg poles in one of the sleeves at the corner of the unit. Have your partner do the same with another pole on another corner. Place the metal loops hanging from the corners of the canopy to secure the tops of the poles to the canopy.

    • 4

Repeat the process with the remaining two legs and stand the poles straight up. The canopy will now be standing up. Notice the four tie-down lines that are hanging from the tops of the poles where they meet the canopy material.

    • 5

Pull the tie-down line all the way out and use one of the included stakes to secure into the ground. Have your partner do the same.

    • 6

Prop up the remaining two legs of the canopy. Place them as far apart from the other two legs as they will go, so the canopy is fully extended.

    • 7

Pull the remaining two lines out and stake them securely to the ground.
