Redhead Tent Instructions

Redhead tents are sold through Bass Pro Shops, a chain retailer of fishing, hunting and camping supplies. The Redhead tents are large "family" style front country tents. The tents come with all gear needed to set up, break down and store the tent. Depending on the size of the tent (4- to 10-person) an assistant might be required. Setup takes 15 to 30 minutes. Before storing the tent in its storage sack, make sure it is completely dry to ensure it does not mildew.

Instructions

    • 1

Set out all pole pieces, stakes, fly and tent body on the ground where you want to set it up. Clear the ground of any rocks or debris. Assemble the poles by pushing the rod blanks together. You have four main tent poles, and two poles for the fly-vestibule. The fly-vestibule poles are shorter.

    • 2

Spread the main tent body out on the ground, with the door facing the direction of your choice. Stake down each corner with a tent stake. Use a rock or heavy object to drive them into the ground. Use the stake loops at each corner to stake out the tent.

    • 3

Slide the four main poles into the tent sleeves so they criss-cross in the center of the tent. Have the assistant stand kitty-corner to you and coordinate pushing the pole ends into the grommets on the tent. Do this for each of the four man tent poles. The main tent is now standing erect. Adjust the stakes so the tent is neither too tight nor too loose.

    • 4

Spread the rainfly-vestibule up and over the tent. Turn so the long end of the fly is over the door of the tent. Push the two vestibule poles through the end sleeves of the fly-vestibule. Clip the rain-fly to the tent poles via the clips along the pole sleeves.

    • 5

Slide the fly-loops under the hooked ends on the top of the tent stakes to secure the fly to the tent. Tie out the rainfly via the guy-lines. Tie them to rocks or trees.

    • 6

Unzip windows as needed to ventilate the tent.
