How to Build Your Own Porta-Potty
According to the Sulabh International Museum of Toilets, humans have been using some variation of the toilet for as long as they have been sedentary. The toilet was invented by John Harrington in 1596, but did not come into popular use until the 18th century. Today, the portable toilet brings some of the comfort of the modern home to remote locales without restroom facilities. It is also suitable for emergency circumstances, such as if city sewer systems malfunction.
