Burning Bear Campground (County Road 62, Pike National Forest, Bailey, CO) in Bailey, Colorado, is a primitive campground offering views of Arrowhead Mountain and Clear Creek. Located close to recreational activities including hiking, golf, swimming, whitewater paddling and fishing, there is always something to do nearby. Burning Bear may lack in modern amenities, but this all-season campground has something for everyone. For snow enthusiasts, there is an abundance of trails for snowshoeing and nearby Arapahoe Basin offers downhill skiing.

Just 10 miles outside of Bailey, Colorado, is the Deer Creek Campground (8001-8043 County Road 43, Pike National Forest, Bailey, CO). This 13-site campground offers campers with tents and trailers a place to stay. Only one restroom is available at Deer Creek, as well as a water hydrant. Deer Creek is at an elevation of 9,000 feet and is located next to a stream. It is also near many area lakes and streams. There are plenty of trails for hikers and bikers, many of which lead to nearby Mt. Evans Wilderness. Reservations are not accepted for Deer Creek camping.

The Meridian Campground (19316 Goddard Ranch Ct, Morrison, CO) is less than 10 miles from Bailey, Colorado. It is a seasonal campground open between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Meridian Campground offers a total of 18 campsites, with one of them being an RV pull-through site. No waste station is available, although there is a hand water pump and wheelchair-friendly toilets available. Meridian Campground is located in a loop of Ponderosa pines. This is an active bear area and safe food storage is necessary.

Bailey, CO) -- one of two campgrounds located in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area. You can make reservations by calling or visiting online. They are open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Thirty-six camping sites are available for both tent and RV campers. Buffalo campground is near a 40-mile network of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding in the Buffalo Creek area.
