How to Diagnose Shoulder/Neck Syndrome in Rowers
-
1
Perform a physical evaluation of patients if they are rowers complaining of shoulder/ neck pain. Aching pain in your upper back, neck and shoulder is the first symptom. The pain is typically on the outside of the arm if the rower is a sweep oar rower.
-
2
Ask questions pertaining to shoulder/neck syndrome. Feeling arm spasms, “heavy” arms and weakness in the affected arm are all characteristics of shoulder/neck syndrome.
-
3
