Instructions

    • 1

Use a tape measure to measure the diameter of your fishing rod. For reference, use a rod with a two-inch diameter handle.

    • 2

Purchase a two-and-a-half-inch PVC pipe with a two-inch base. The base is attached to the PVC pipe.

    • 3

Cut two pieces of neoprene to the dimensions of four inches-by-four inches. Use fabric shears. The neoprene provides padding for the rod holder.

    • 4

Use one neoprene piece for the back piece. Cut a two-and-a-half-inch hole in the center of the other neoprene piece, which is the cover. Use fabric shears.

    • 5

Insert the PVC pipe through the hole in the cover. Place the back piece on the back of the cover. The PVC pipe and base should be in between the neoprene pieces.

    • 6

Insert a commercial needle into the sewing machine. Sew the borders of the cover and back piece using a sewing machine.

    • 7

Place the neoprene piece with the PVC pipe facing upwards. Sew through the cover piece and into the PVC base. Sew around the borders of the PVC base to reinforce the base with the neoprene pieces.

    • 8

Cut a two-inch slit to the right and left of the PVC pipe. Cut the slits through the neoprene sheets and PVC base. The slits are used to attach your belt. Use a utility knife. Adjust the size of the slits to fit your belt. You now have made a rod holder for your belt.
