Problems With North Face Boots
-
Stiffness
-
One complaint about The North Face boots is that they are too stiff during the breaking-in period. If a boot is too stiff, the ankle and foot will not be able to move properly and this could cause discomfort and soreness. The best option to fix this is to buy the well before they are needed for an outdoor activity or hiking trip. Wear the shoes around occasionally to slowly break them in so they're ready when you want to use them.
Wide Heel
-
A wider heel may not be an issue for those with wide feet, but for the average person this may be a problem. Having too much room in the heel may cause the heel to slip in and out of the shoe. This may cause unsteady stepping and possibly create blisters on the heel. This may be corrected by wearing thicker socks or extra insoles.
Lacing
-
The lacing component on some of the North Face boots have been reviewed as being cheaply made in relation to the cost of the shoe. As of 2010, most North Face boots are priced between $100 and $150, which puts the boot on the pricier end of the scale. For those who need to secure their laces tightly, cheaply made laces could be an issue.
