How to Sharpen a Hoof Knife

A sharp hoof knife will make your job as a farrier easier and quicker. Test the sharpness of your hoof knife on a thick piece of leather--something about the same texture as a hoof. Be sure to cut into the leather at the same angle you would to trim a hoof - towards you.Because of the blade of a hoof knife is curved and hooked at the tip, using a bench grinder is a quick and easy way to sharpen the knife.
