1
Store your deer head mount in a temperature-controlled environment. Exposure to extreme heat or cold can cause damage to your mount and shorten its lifespan. Display the deer head out of direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays from the sun can deteriorate the polymer and plastic filler and damage the fur of the animal.

2
Wipe down the deer horns and the placard on which it's mounted to keep the mount free from dust and other grime. Use a damp cloth without chemical cleansers, unless the deer head is stained. In that case, use a small amount of rubbing alcohol diluted with water to gently remove stains or dirt.

3
Vacuum the fur periodically on a low power setting to remove embedded dust and particles from the hair. Use a hose attachment with a wide opening if possible, and run it over the deer head fur lightly.
-
4
Brush the deer's fur with a firm-bristled brush to keep it looking good and to make the hair point in the same direction after vacuuming it.
