How to Drain the Hull of a Jet Ski

Jet Ski is the brand name for Kawasaki's line of personal watercraft. These devices are small boats intended to carry one to three passengers in a similar riding position to a motorcycle. They are very maneuverable due to their small size and can sometimes tip over in the water. When this occurs, the hull of the boat fills with water that you will need to drain. Removing this water is a simple process because of the drain plugs installed on the back.

Instructions

    • 1

Back the tow vehicle and trailer down the loading dock until the trailer is about half submerged in the water.

    • 2

Drive the Jet Ski onto the center of the trailer's bunks. Secure the trailer's winch hook to the Jet Ski’s bow eye and pull the Jet Ski onto the trailer by turning the winch clockwise.

    • 3

Drive the tow vehicle away from the boat launch and park it in a location that doesn't interfere with other boaters using the ramp.

    • 4

Remove the two drain screws from the back bottom of the hull with a screwdriver. Allow the water to drain from the hull.

    • 5

Reinstall the drain plugs by reversing the process used to remove them.
