1
Fill the fuel tank if the engine turns over but does not start. An empty or low fuel tank will prevent the engine from starting.
-
2
Check the battery connections if the engine will not turn over when you attempt to start the ignition. Tighten the connections if they are loose.
-
3
Replace the battery if the battery connections are secure and the engine will not turn over. Low battery voltage will prevent the engine from starting.
-
4
Replace the spark plugs if the engine misfires. Worn out spark plugs can cause an engine to run rough or misfire.
-
5
Turn the engine off and check the jet pump for debris or weeds if the engine overheats. Debris in the jet pump causes the engine to have to work harder.
-
6
Contact a Jet Ski service technician if the steering is erratic. A damaged steering cable can cause erratic steering. Faulty steering is dangerous so a technician should inspect it.
