1
Place the bike in the work stand. Unscrew the right-side stanchion tube's adjustment screw at the top of the tube.
-
2
Pull out the adjustment spring attached to the screw. It will be dripping oil. Wipe it off with a rag and set it on a work bench. Insert a thin dipstick into the tube to check the oil level. If you're changing the oil, remove the bicycle from the work stand. Turn the bike and the fork upside down and drain the oil into a drain pan. Place the bike back in the stand.

3
Consult the Marzocchi recommended oil level chart on the Marzocchi website or in the MX owner's guide (see References). Place the funnel into the tube and add oil to the recommended level. There are different MX forks with different oil levels. In addition, riding styles and terrain dictate different settings.

4
Wipe around the tube top and down the stanchion with a rag. Place the adjustment screw and spring back into the stanchion tube and tighten the screw with the crescent wrench. Remove the bicycle and push down on the fork at the handlebars to test the shock. Adjust the rebound and dampening on the MX fork with the turn screws at the top of the stanchion tubes to reset after adding the oil.
-
5
Turn the dampening dial clockwise to tighten or counterclockwise to reduce dampening.
