DIY Garage Bike Rack

A bike rack inside your garage is a great way to eliminate your bikes sitting outside as well as freeing up space in your garage for other items. This project should not take over 30 minutes from start to finish if you have all the materials needed. The hooks used should not damage your bike in any way as they are rubber-coated. The bikes will be hanging upside-down so you must be prepared to lift the bike up and down.

Instructions

Using the ladder, find the studs in your ceiling in your garage. They should be sturdy enough to support however many bicycles you want to hang.

    • 2

Take the rubber hooks, and with the screw end begin screwing them into the wood studs in the ceiling. They should be space about 4 feet apart. The spacing is relative to the size of bike you have, as the hooks should match up with each wheel that it will be hanging. The hooks should screw all the way into the stud.

Grab your bike, flip it upside down holding onto it tightly, and hang the bike from the ceiling, placing the tires on the hooks. Your rack is complete.
