The Old Navvy Road

The Old Navvy Road, also known as Rallarvegen, begins in either Haugastøl or Finse and ends in either Flåm or Voss, depending on how far you want to ride. The full ride, from Haugastøl to Voss, will take you and your bike on a 108 kilometer joy ride. The full Old Navvy Road experience is not for novices. It begins with an an ascent of 1341 meters and then heads back down through steep and sometimes very rough terrain. Because of the altitude, this ride can be done only from around the mid-July to mid-September. Bikes can be rented from any of the towns mentioned above.
Gudbrandsdalen

Located in the Venabu Mountains, Gudbrandsdalen is an adventurer's paradise. Bikers can enjoy mountains and mountain farm roads along quite scenic routes. During the summer you can rent a bike and hit the trails on your own or arrange a cycle tour with one of the local tour operators. There are options for families and expert bikers as well.
Hardanger Highlands

Near the Telemark Canal, the Hardanger highlands are a beautiful biking area. You can ride from Rjuken to the cable car at Krossobanen and then on to Gvepseborg, at 886 meters above sea level. You have the option of arranging for an overnight stay at Kalhovd Tourist Cottage and returning to Rjuken the next morning. Bike rentals are available in Rjuken.
Hafjell Bike Park

Hafjell Village is located in the mountains just 10 minutes from Lillehammer. Hafjell Bike Park has an international reputation as one of the best in Europe and has been featured in various mountain biking magazines. For the 2010 season, there are 14 lift-service downhill-only trails, with as much as an 830 meter descent per trail. The trails range from beginner to expert with stunts, jumps and drops. The park is open from June to early October. Bike and gear rental is available on site.
Oppdal Bike Park

Oppdal Bike Park is located in Oppdal, an hour south of Trondheim. The park is sponsored by Kona Bikes. As of 2010, it has seven lift-serviced trails with as much as 530 meters of descent. Many of the trails have man-made stunts, jumps and drops. Bike and gear rental is available on site.
