Information on Older Giant Mountain Bikes
-
Identification
-
Before you can obtain detailed information on the bicycle, you need something to start with. Any information you can take from the bicycle will help. If you cannot find every detail, don't panic. Just go to the next step with whatever you have.
Year
-
Begin by locating the year. You might find it on the decals or with the serial number, which is usually somewhere on the bottom side of the frame.
Model and Color
-
Many Giant bicycles have the model in decals on some part of the bike. Being familiar with Giant bicycle models such as Trance, Yukon or Trinity, will help you spot what you are looking for. Also note the color or color scheme of the bicycle, as color is often model specific.
Size
-
Measure the bicycle to determine its size. The most important measurements will be the length of the seat tube, which goes from where the seat post is inserted down to where the cranks run through the frame and the wheel size.
