How to Install an FAL Folding Stock

FAL folding stocks are made-to-go military-issued assault and tactical rifle weapons. These stocks are available to the general public and collectors. To use and install an FAL stock you need a tactical rifle equipped with pushbutton stock swivels. If your rifle is not so equipped use the FAL adapter suitable for your rifle and the corresponding FAL folding stock. FAL stocks are made to install quickly for ease of use in the field. Most FAL stocks and adapters do not require hand tools for installation.

Instructions

  1. Swivel Button

    • 1

Empty the rifle of any rounds or ammo clips. Make sure the safety is on.

    • 2

Slide the FAL folding stock over the butt end of the rifle stock. Align the stock swivel button to the receiver on the FAL stock. Click it into position and turn the lock dial clockwise until it no longer turns. This locks the FAL into position on the rifle.

Slide the lock pin under the stock where it overlaps the rifle (this is found under the stock) through the lock pin hole. Close the lock pin with the small cotter pin.

    Adapter

Slide the FAL adapter suitable for your rifle model and the corresponding FAL stock. The adapter fits over the back butt on the rifle stock.

    • 5

Tighten the adapter lock dial or dials (model depending) to lock the adapter onto the rifle.

    • 6

Click the FAL folding stock onto the swivel button on the rear end of the adapter and turn the lock dial clockwise to secure it to the adapter and rifle.

    • 7

Insert the lock pin under the adapter-rifle and push the cotter pin through it to lock the FAL onto the rifle.
