How to Install an Arisaka Sling

The Arisaka sling is made to be used with the rifle that bears the same name. The Arisaka Type 99 was issued to Japanese troops during World War II. The sling is made of leather and attaches to the rifle at dedicated swivel points. Unlike most rifle slings, the Arisaka sling attaches to the rifle on the side of the stock. The Airsaka sling goes on intuitively and can be adjusted for length after it is attached to the rifle.

Instructions

    • 1

Unload the rifle and set it flat on a table or work surface. Make sure the rifle is laying on its right side with its left side facing up.

    • 2

Unroll the sling and set it up against the rifle. Clip the rear end of the sling to the swivel clip on the side of the buttstock.

    • 3

Stretch the sling down to the end of the rifle stock and clip the end to the dedicated swivel clip on the side of the foregrip, right where the barrel begins.

    • 4

Place the rifle over your shoulder using the sling. Push the slider up or down to lengthen or shorten the Arisaka sling for a comfortable carry.
