1
Communicate with your partner. Decide what strategies to use before the game. Talk to one another constantly during the game to keep up your teamwork and make adjustments to your technique.
-
2
Practice your serving technique. Rotate your shoulder and snap your wrist while using your hips to serve the ball with more force. Use a backhand grip with the racquet centered in front of your body for a return serve.
-
3
Practice forehand and backhand maneuvers. Bring your forearm parallel to the floor, keeping your elbow aligned with the top of your shoulder for forehand strokes. Move your elbow away from your body and point it in the direction of the side wall with your arm reaching toward the back wall for an optimal backhand stroke. Snap your wrist to hit the ball. Use your hips and legs to add power to your strokes.
-
4
Know where to aim your shots. Aim for the ceiling if the ball is coming towards your chest or higher. Aim to hit the ball past your opponent if you see the ball coming between your chest and thighs.
-
5
Choose the ideal team member for each position on the court. Select the team member with the strongest backhand stroke to play on the left side of the court as a type of quarterback. Select the team member with the strongest forehand stroke to cover the right side of the court.
-
6
Practice court positioning with your partner. The quarterback handles the backhand shots from the left side wall and the forehand shots from center court. The other player ideally covers the right third of the court hitting primarily forehand shots. Practice playing together with the quarterback directing both of you to optimize your game.
