How to Improve Layups

A missed layup is one of the most frustrating moments in the game of basketball. Whether you play center or point guard, you need to be able to make layups on a consistent basis. To increase your accuracy, explode upward to the hoop from an athletic stance, keep your body between the defender and the ball, and shoot the ball high on the backboard with a soft touch. This drill will help you practice these skills.
