1
Clamp the old barrel in the barrel vise. Bolt the action wrench to the receiver. Squirt the penetrating oil in the seam where the barrel meets the receiver; allow it to soak in. Tap the action wrench with the hammer. This breaks the receiver free from the barrel, and allows its removal. Take the old barrel out of the barrel vise.

2
Clamp the new barrel in the barrel vise. Thread the action onto the barrel. Screw on the action -- until the barrel face contacts the primary torque-shoulder -- and tighten. Use the chamber reamer to finish the chamber to the specifications for your caliber.

3
Check the headspace. Insert the "Go" gauge. The bolt must close completely on the gauge. Insert the "No-Go" gauge. The bolt must not close completely on the gauge. If the rifle fails either test, the chamber is not to specifications. You must ream the chamber further, or set the barrel back.
