How to Adjust a Palmers Stabilizer

Setting the correct velocity on your paintball gun -- the speed at which the paint balls leave the gun -- will ensure a more comfortable firing position and better accuracy. Adjustments to velocity can be made on most paintball guns, but a second stage of regulation of the high-pressure force of the gun may be needed. A Palmer's stabilizer can be installed on your gun for just this purpose. The gun's velocity can adjusted with the stabilizer, saving the gun's adjustment for fine-tuning to the desired velocity.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the paint ball velocity control on your gun to approximately 325 feet per second.

    • 2

Place a 3/16-inch hex key wrench onto the hex fitting on the stabilizer adjustment screw on the Palmer's stabilizer. Turn the wrench ¼ turn in a counterclockwise direction to reduce the gun's velocity or ¼ turn in a clockwise direction in increase velocity.

    • 3

Test-fire a few shots from the gun to determine if the adjustment is to your liking.

    • 4

Turn the adjustment screw on the stabilizer another ¼ turn in the direction desired and fire a few more test shots. Continue this procedure until the velocity of the paint balls leaving the gun are close the desired setting. Remove the hex key wrench

    • 5

Make fine-tune adjustments to the velocity using the velocity control on your gun.
