1
Determine where in the home the ping pong table will be placed. Figure out whether or not you want the table to remain up at all times. This will determine whether you should look for a stationary or a mobile table. In most cases, a mobile table best suits the needs for family recreation.
-
2
Make sure that the wheels on a mobile table work smoothly and that all of them are equipped with a brake. Test the brakes to make sure the table holds fast in place and does not slip.
-
3
Look for table legs with levelers, if at all possible. As some surfaces, such as basement floors, can be slightly uneven, levelers ensure that the table surface stays flat and ready for play.
-
4
Check the surface of the table thoroughly. A good surface will be smooth, even and free of any warping or marred areas.
-
5
Bounce a ping pong ball on several areas of the playing surface. According to international standard, a ping pong ball should bounce to a height of 23 cm when dropped from a height of 30 cm. This should be the case wherever the ball is dropped on the surface of the table.
-
6
Test the legs and brackets on folding ping pong tables to make sure that they lock into place safely. The table should be sturdy and secure.
