How to Calibrate a Casio Outgear Compass

If you own one of the Casio Outgear series of outdoor watches that has a compass, the compass needs to be calibrated prior to navigation use. Luckily, Casio designs these watches to make the calibration a quick and simple process doable on the spot. If you wear your watch while flying, you need to recalibrate the compass when you reach your destination.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate your Outgear watch to the compass function. Each Outgear compass equipped watch has its own method of screen navigation, but typically it consists of pressing the side function button until you reach the compass screen.

    • 2

Press and hold the "Set" button or the appropriate button for your particular model. Wait for the compass screen to clear out and then show a countdown screen.

    • 3

Watch the timer countdown and when it gets to zero, begin to turn in one direction a full 360 degrees. Go slow and watch the compass, checking to see a series of pixels forming a circle.

    • 4

Stop turning once the 360 degree turn is complete. Look at the watch for a confirmation that the calibration is successful.
