Instructions for a Yukon Spartan

The Yukon Optics Spartan is a 3x42 nightvision monocular. The "3x42" is the measurement of the field of view with the monocular; in this case, the field of view is 3-by-42 feet, so for every 42 feet of distance, the magnification makes it appear three times larger from the distance. This model is made for marine use and features on/off infrared functions. The device uses a single CR123A battery to power up the night infrared features and gives an estimated 70-hour usage. Yukon makes the Spartan as a user-intuitive "out of the box" for ease of operation. The Spartan, as it is designed for marine use, is fully submersible. Never use the device with the infrared on during the daytime or in lit areas as this causes eye damage or blindness.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the battery panel with the screwdriver on the side of the Spartan and insert the CR123A battery so positive matches positive (+) and negative matches negative (-). Screw the panel back together, making sure the rubber gasket gets sealed.

    • 2

Push "On" on the top of the device. Press the "IR" button if the target to be viewed is in the dark totally or in light conditions such you cannot see it with the naked eye. Look through the viewfinder once the IR button is pressed.

    • 3

Aim the device at a target 100 yards away. Turn the focal piece of the eye lens until the target becomes crisp with subtle soft edges with the IR on. To add extra light onto the target and field of view, adjust the front lens dial until the green LED light comes on the top of the device.

    • 4

Press "ON" and hold for three seconds to turn the unit off. Carry and store the unit with the lens caps on.

    • 5

Clean the lenses using compressed air canisters and dust-free chamois clothes.
