1
Cut off the excess bungee on the gear where it needs replacing. For example, if replacing tent pole bungee, cut off the knots and pull the entire length out from the pole blanks. Thread the new bungee into the tent pole blanks and tie the ends to the tips or loops at the last pole blanks.

2
Cut off the length of bungee cord needed from the bulk spool. Hold a lighter flame under the cut ends to melt the cord. This prevents fraying off the ends of the bungee cord. Thread the cord through any tent sleeves, tarp grommets or holders.

3
Slide the metal hooks onto the end of the cord. Most bungee hooks have a wrapped end, much like a coiled sleeve. Push the cord through the sleeve and use the crimpers to mold the coils onto the bungee, thus securing it in place.

4
Push the bungee cord through the ends of the bungee ball holders and bring the two bungee ends together at the ball. Tie them using a square knot to secure into the bungee ball cord holder. Slide the bungee ball cord holder through tarp grommets or holders.
