How to Roll Snugpaks Down to Size

Snugpak is a European maker of outdoor gear and clothing. Snugpak makes sleeping bags for desert, mountain, camping and military purposes. The sleeping bags are available in synthetic or goose down fill and come with stuff sacks. When it comes to getting the sleeping bag back into the stuff sack, remember they are called "stuff sacks" for a reason. To keep the loft in the down or synthetic fill, the Snugpak bags should be stuffed and not rolled into the stuff sacks.

Instructions

    • 1

Zip up the Snugpak sleeping bag and close any Velcro straps. Shake out the bag to get rid of dirt or sand. If you have a compression stuff sack instead of the included sack, use it rather than a non-compression bag.

    • 2

Stuff the sleeping bag into the stuff sack or compression sack. Start at the foot or the top of the bag; either end is fine. Randomly stuff the bag into the sack, as this keeps the loft randomly compressed between uses and prevents thin zones in the loft.

    • 3

Push the bag all the way down and pull the sack tongue over the top of the bag. Cinch down the top of the sack.

    • 4

Pull down on the compression straps surrounding the sack if using the compression sack. Pull them down evenly so the sleeping bag is compressed evenly, and looks much like a loaf of bread.
