How to Change the Locks on Thule Ski Racks

Thule makes racks and cargo carriers for a variety of sports. The Thule system is modular, meaning the racks are built to add to with accessories. Among these accessories are the Thule lock cores. The lock cores are usable in the Thule racks, including the company's ski racks. In order to use the new locks in the rack, you need the old lock change key. This is crucial to removing the old lock so the new locks may be placed into the rack.

      Insert the change key into the old lock and turn to pull the old core out of the ski rack. Turn the old lock core counterclockwise and pull out from the rack.

      Insert the new lock cores change key into the lock core. With the key in the new lock core, push it into the rack's lock hole.

      Turn the change key clockwise and remove from the lock core.

      Insert the new lock core key into the lock cylinder and turn to lock. Place the key in a safe location. Place the new lock core change key in a safe location in case you need to change locks again.
