Cannondale R-700 Bicycle Specifications

The Cannondale R700 is a series of bikes. In an effort to bring affordable quality to the average person, Cannondale began building the R700 line by using entry-level components. The R700 still uses the Cannondale geometry on its custom frames but has swapped the expensive Campagnolo derailleurs, shifters and brakes for more affordable Shimano parts.

  1. R700 Caad 8

    • The Caad 8 is one of Cannondale's most popular bikes. It's affordable with either

      Sora, Tiagra or 105 Shimano shifters and derailleurs. It comes stock with a Slice Ultra carbon fork, Shimano WH-R550 rims, Hutchinson Top Speed foldable 700 x 23c tires and a carbon-wrapped seat post. It has a nine-speed Shimano rear cassette and a compact 39/53 double chainring on the front. The Caad 8 is built for entry-level racing, touring and century riding with a Cannondale Road Saddle and sizing between 48 and 63 cm.

    R700 Feminine

    • The R700 Feminine has bike geometry that caters specifically to women. A 27-speed Shimano drivetrain has nine gears on the back and a triple chainring on the front. By using a triple on the front, it allows the Feminine the "granny gear" for climbing the steepest of hills. It has a Shimano 105 front derailleur and an Ultegra rear derailleur. It has a designer Vitesse Sport saddle for comfort and style, a carbon-wrapped seat post and a Cannondale custom Optimo frame. The Feminine also comes in a hard-to-find 650 cm tire size to fit petite women as well as the popular 700c.

    R700 Triple

    • With more versatility than the Caad 8, the Triple uses three chainrings in the front, like the Feminine, for more climbing ability, giving the rider low gearing similar to mountain bikes. The front chainings break down into gear the gear ranges; 30/42/52, with 30 being the smallest gear, or the "granny." The Triple uses a 105 front derailleur and a Ultegra rear derailleur with a nine-speed Shimano cassette on the back. It also uses the Slice Ultra carbon fork with a Cannondale Road Saddle. The Triple comes in sizes ranging from 48 to 63 cm.
