Rollerblade Formula 80 Specifications
-
Frame
-
The Formula 80 skates are built on an aluminum frame. Aluminum is more durable than cheaper plastic frames, and allows greater speed than heavier frames used for roller hockey or freestyle skating.
Bearings
-
The Formula 80 skates come with ABEC 7 bearings. The Annular Bearing Engineering Committee rated bearings as either level 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. The higher the ABEC rating, the better and more expensive the bearing.
Wheels
-
The Formula 80 wheels are 80mm in diameter and have a hardness rating of 78A. Wheels from 76 to 82 are meant for outdoor use. Wheels in this range are hard and able to withstand rough surfaces such as pavement and sidewalks.
Boot
-
The Formula 80 skates use a combination of Velcro, laces and buckles to ensure a correct fit to a skater's foot. The bottom of the boot features laces. A Velcro strap tightens the boot at the top of the laces. A plastic buckle is used to tighten the top of the boot around the ankle.
