Michelin Pro2 Tires
-
Michelin is known more for producing automobile tires, but the Pro2 racing tires for bicycles are one of the best sellers for triathlon competitions. Michelin claims that the Pro2 tires, which cost about $50 each, have the lowest rolling resistance of any other racing tire on the market. This means that the Michelin tires will allow a tire to roll faster on the pavement with less friction. The Pro2 tires are designed to be puncture-resistant with their composition from Silica rubber. The tires are available in six colors. Road Bike Review gave the Pro2 tires a 3.84 rating on a scale of 5.
Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX
-
The Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX racing tires have a diamond-pattern tread design for better road control. The Vittoria tires, which cost around $65 each, are made from a Silica and Kevlar rubber combination. The Vittoria tires have tougher tread in the center of the tire to prevent excessive road wear. Road Bike Review gave the Vittoria tires a 3.66 rating out of 5 for racing performance. The Kevlar in the Vittoria tires is designed to add protection against punctures and cuts.
Continental Attack/Force
-
The Continental Attack and Force racing tires cost about $60 each and received a rating of 4.33 out of 5 from Road Bike Review. The Attack is the front tire and the Force is the rear tire. The Continental Attack is 22 millimeters wide, while the Force is 24 millimeters wide. The Attack is narrower so that it will have less road resistance. Both tires feature a protective belt under the tread for puncture resistance.
