How to Do a Crossover on Inline Skates
Instructions
-
-
1
Practice regular turns on inline skates before starting crossovers. Lean to the right or left, with your outer skate balancing on the inside edge and your inner skate balancing on the outer edge as you turn.
-
2
Skate slowly when beginning to learn crossovers. Bend your knees and start to make a turn. Bring your outer skate over your inner skate and push off with your inner skate. Extend your arms for balance as you do a crossover.
-
3
Bring your outer skate, once crossed over, in front of your other skate. Now bring what was your inner skate over the other skate. Continue crossing over skates in this manner throughout the turn.
-
4
Repeat while making a turn in the opposite direction, crossing your outer skate over the inner skate throughout the turn. Practice by skating in circles so you make turns to both the right and left.
