1
Set the skates out on a clean flat surface. Since you will be removing wheels and parts, it's important to keep everything separated so you don't lose an important screw or bolt.
-
2
Use a K-Tool or 4mm Allen wrench to remove all the wheels from the rollerblades.
-
3
Clean the boots and blade. A cloth and some soapy water will do the trick. Dampen the cloth and rub the boot and blade down, without getting the parts excessively wet. Be sure to get into nooks and crannies where dirt tends to accumulate.
-
4
Remove the bearings from the wheels of the skate. Clean the bearings with a mild dish washing soap or, if you want to put a little more effort into the cleaning, a special bearing cleaner.
-
5
Give the wheels a wash. Wheels build up lots of grease and dirt so it's important to clean all surfaces of the wheel. Begin by rubbing the outside of each wheel with a cloth and some mineral spirits or paint thinner. Then feed a thin, damp cloth through the center of the wheels to "floss" the inside of the wheel. Dry each wheel when finished.
-
6
Put your skates back together. Replace all the bearings and wheels and tighten the screw and bolts. Make sure that all the wheels are secure. For a last added touch, spray some foot deodorizer in the inside of your boot to keep your rollberblades fresh and clean.
