1994 150 HP Johnson Specs

Originally manufactured by Johnson Bros, the Johnson outboard engine is now produced by the Evinrude company. However, as of 2010, Johnson continue to service and produce spare parts for their units. The Johnson brand has been owned by Bombardier Recreation Products since 2003.

  1. Different Models

    • Four different models of the 1994 Johnson 150 HP engine were produced. The four models were the Johnson 150, the Johnson 150 Silverstar, the GT150 and the Silverstar faststrike. Each motor had the same engine specifications.

    Cylinder Specs

    • Johnson 150 HP motors had six cylinders in a two-stroke engine. This means that the engine's cylinders go through the whole combustion cycle in two-piston strokes.

    RPM Range

    • The 1994 150HP Johnson had a minimum number of revolutions per minute of 4,500 and a maximum of ,5500. The engine should remain within this range even when operated with a wide open throttle, or WOT.

    Gear and Propeller Drive Specs

    • The gear ratio of the 1994 150 HP Johnson was 1.86-to-1. It had a spline count of 15. Splines are teeth located on the drive shaft, and these teeth correspond to teeth in the propeller hub. They lock together and prevent the propeller from slipping.
