Determining the manufacturer of an old high pressure steel SCUBA tank can be intimidating if you are unaware of what the seemingly strange markings on the cylinder mean. Fortunately, once you learn what to look for, reading the tank will become quite easy.

      Lay the SCUBA tank down safely on its side.

      Locate the information about the tank stamped on its neck or shoulder.

      Look at the second row of information in between the serial number and the hydrostatic test date for the name of its manufacturer or an abbreviation of the manufacturer's name.
