Instructions

    • 1

Determine the size of the half pipe or ramp you want to build. Consider your construction skills as well as the space where your half pipe or your ramp will go.

    • 2

Construct the frame work first. Build two frames of equal size for a half pipe or just one for a ramp. Cut plywood sheets to create the curve and attach it to the side of the frame. Cut two for a ramp and four for a half pipe. Cut one and use it as a template for the others to ensure accuracy.

    • 3

Frame-in the curves by screwing in 2-by-4's across the curve. You'll make the entire structure much sturdier.

    • 4

Add more plywood to the top to finish the basic structure of your half pipe. Cut the sheets so they butt up against each other snugly and screw them into place.

    • 5

Paint the entire structure with exterior paint to help protect it from weather. Painting it won't protect it forever, but it will drastically slow the warping and rotting in those ramps and half pipes that are left outside for extended periods of time.

Cover the riding surface with a layer of Masonite to make your ride smooth. You can purchase Masonite at your local home improvement store.
