1981 Yamaha Snowmobile Specs

Yamaha Motor Corporation manufactures several sport vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), motorcycles and snowmobiles. From the present time back to 1981, Yamaha has offered a line of snowmobiles with different models to meet the demands of its customers. The 1981 models represent what are now referred to as "vintage" snowmobiles, referring to the increased interest in the older models.
  1. SRX 440

    • The Yamaha SRX 440 represents one model from 1981. The "440" designates the engine displacement; 440 cubic centimeters (cc). The model comes under the category of 2-up touring, which refers to the vehicle's ability to transport two people across long distances. A poster featuring the 1981 SRX 440 used the slogan "After It Knocks Your Eyes Out It'll Blow Your Socks Off."

    Enticer

    • This model began production in 1978 with the Enticer 250, with the number referring to its engine displacement of 250cc. It was a lightweight, single cylinder snowmobile with a compact design and easy handling. Yamaha produced many of these models into the 1980s, including 1981 with the Enticer 250 and 300 which was a two cylinder model. This model is widely used today in vintage snowmobile racing due to a reliable engine and the large production number, which makes replacement parts readily available.

    Excel

    • In 1981 the Excel was manufactured in one mode, the EC340E, again referring to the engine displacement of 340cc.
