98 Yamaha Warrior Specs

Yamaha Motor Corporation first introduced the Warrior models of ATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, in 1987. The Warrior line of ATVs for Yamaha has since become the world's best-selling line of sports ATVs; the 1998 model of the Warrior continues in the tradition of it's predecessors.
  1. Engine

    • The 1998 Yamaha Warrior features a 348 cc, air-cooled, SOHC (single overhead cam), four-stroke engine. The air-cooled single overhead cam engine feature helps prevent cam phasing issues, which can be the cause of significant engine damage and are generally less complicated to modify. The Warrior was also the first sports ATV to feature an electric start.

    Brakes and Suspension

    • The 1998 Yamaha Warrior ATV features dual disk front brakes with standard disc brakes on the back, for maximum braking capability. The front suspension is a double wishbone set at 7.9 inches and the rear suspension is a swingarm with single shock set at 7.9 inches. The suspension can be adjusted for long-travel. The seat height, or ride height, is 30.1 inches.

    Transmission and Tires

    • The 1998 Yamaha Warrior's transmission is a six-speed that features reverse abilities and has a manual clutch. The front tires on the Warrior measure at 22 by 10-7. The rear wheels measure in at 22 by 10-9. The first two numbers "22 by 10" describe the tires' height and width, while the final number "-7" is the rim diameter that the tire is mounted to.
