How to Choose a Snowmobile Helmet
Practice safe snowmobiling by making sure that you wear a snowmobile helmet when you are out riding. This will help prevent injuries while you enjoy the outdoor winter sport of snowmobiling. Even the safest snowmobile driver can have unexpected things happen to him, and a proper-fitting helmet allows you to protect your head from injury in an accident. It will also protect you from any swinging branches or debris that may fly up as you ride.

1
Place a flexible tape measure on the back of your head and bring it around the head towards the front to measure your head's circumference. Write down the measurement so that you have it when you are looking at snowmobile helmets.
-
2
Place a snowmobile helmet on your head, checking to see if the helmet is overly snug. If the helmet is too snug or too loose, it is not an ideal fit.
-
3
Examine the helmet and check that it does not have any scratches or marks on it. If it has been previously used, check inside the helmet to make sure that everything is still in working order.
