Good Winter Games

You can be just as active during winter and the colder times of the year as you are during spring and summer. There are winter sports available for the whole family, whatever their level of activity. Winter sports can be played at home or on winter vacation. From sledding to snowboarding, there is something for everyone.
  1. Winter Games for Children

    • Many teens enjoy playing hockey.

For kids, winter means the inability to play summer sports. But when you get the first snow of the season, involve your kids in winter games to keep them entertained. Sledding, building snow forts and having snowball fights are simple, fun games for kids during the winter. The only supplies needed are snow and proper snow outdoor gear. Older children and teens enjoy hockey.

    Winter Games for Adults

    • Ice skating is a winter game the entire family can enjoy.

Engage teens and adults in more competitive or active winter games. Skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and hockey are all fun winter games for adults. Both cross country and downhill skiing are available in many parts of the United States, and snowmobiling is a good winter activity for adults. Ice skating is also a fun winter game for teens and adults. A ski vacation is a great way to avoid winter cabin fever.

    Televised Games

    • Hockey games and the Winter Olympics are a treat for the whole family to watch. These winter games are found on sports channels and offer fun entertainment for kids and adults of any age. ESPN also hosts the Winter X Games, a series of extreme winter sports and stunts. Watching televised games in the winter is a good way to avoid the cold on those extreme days when playing outdoors just isn't an option.
