1
Spray window cleaner on the inside and outside of your face shield and wipe dry with a clean lens cloth. Be careful not to use any type of cleaner with ammonia in it or the fumes from the ammonia will linger in your helmet. Make sure the shield is completely dry before continuing.
-
2
Cut a cooking potato so you have several slices that are easy to hold yet thick enough that they will not break (about a 1/4 inch thick).
-
3
Rub the white of the potato over the inside and outside of the face shield. You will be able to see where you have rubbed because the starch from the potato will leave a white film. Make sure you completely coat both sides of the shield and set it aside to dry for about 1/2 hour.
-
4
Use a clean lens cloth to buff the shield until it is clear. Keep checking the shield by holding it up and looking through it to make sure it is clear and there are no swirl marks left from the potato coating. When you have buffed the shield completely clear, you are done.
