How Do I Do an Air on My Surfboard?
Instructions

-
1
Paddle out into the waves and take your position in the water to wait for a suitable wave to surf.
-
2
Catch a wave and surf along the middle line of the wave, generating as much speed as possible. Look along the wave for a close-out section and make a bottom turn toward the lip of the wave.
-
3
Focus at the point of the lip that you will attempt to take off from; the more vertical the wall of the wave, the better. Aim the nose toward that point. Try to carry as much of your momentum with you off the wave's lip.
-
4
Reach the top of the wave and push off the tail of the board with your back foot. Use your momentum to propel yourself into the air.
-
5
When you have left the wave, pull your knees toward your chest and keep your body centered over the surfboard.
-
6
Stay in control and turn the nose of the board back toward land. Look at your landing area as you approach it.
-
7
Extend your legs to push the board back onto the wave before contact to absorb the impact. Keep low and centered on the surfboard immediately after landing an air. This will help you to smoothly surf away from the trick.
