Using a Tip sheet to bet the races
-
1
Find a horse racing tipster by asking around at the track. They are usually located at a table near the entrance to the grandstand. See if any of the regular bettors use a tipster with a good track record. Otherwise, search the Internet for a tipster site.
-
2
Check out a tipster's background before you agree to any terms of service. The tipster should have a solid background in horse racing and be known for picking winners. Most of them can provide you with stats from the previous day's racing card.
-
3
Contact tipsters through their Web site or hotline. Many tipsters will provide a certain number of tips for a set amount of money. Some of the tipsters are confident enough to allow you to get a few free tips from them to start.
-
4
Place small bets at first. Use the tipster's recommendations, but do not put down exorbitant amounts of money on the horses.
-
5
Make sure the tipster backs up his information with facts and not hunches. Tipsters should handicap each horse in a race.
