How to Find the Right Seats at Fenway Park for a Red Sox Game

Fenway Park in Boston first opened to the public back in 1912 and is the oldest baseball stadium currently in use in Major League Baseball. It is home to the Boston Red Sox. The stadium has an attendance capacity of 39,067, of which 37,493 are seats and the remainder standing room. In 2003, the Red Sox installed seats atop the famed "Green Monster" wall in left field and seating is now available in all sections of the stadium. Although many seats are controlled by season ticket holders, patrons who purchase the same seat during the entire baseball season, finding the right seats can still be done through the Red Sox box office, local sellers and online ticket brokers.

      Decide what part of the stadium you wish to sit in and how much you are willing to pay for those seats; the most expensive seats will be atop the Green Monster and the field boxes immediately behind home plate. Visit the Red Sox home page and click on "Fenway Park Seating and Pricing." Click on the stadium diagram layout for possible seating options and a picture of what the view from that seat looks like will pop up.

      Click on the "Red Sox Ticket Information" link on the team's website and choose what day you would like to see them play. Click on the green "T" next to the game you want. A list of available tickets will pop up. View the seat map to see where the available tickets are located and, if they meet your approval, go through the process to buy them. The pop-up will not appear if the game is sold out and you will only have the option to bid on any tickets that are available for auction.

      Go down to the stadium during box office hours and purchase tickets. Talk to the ticket seller, who can give you details about where the seats are located and what kind of view you will have for the game.

      Visit a local website that allows fans to sell their tickets, such as a newspaper classified ad site. Keep the stadium diagram from the team's website handy by printing it out from a PDF file and look to see what tickets are available and if any meet your needs as far as location and price. Contact the seller and arrange to buy the tickets.

      Check national ticket broker sites to see what tickets are available. Search through the available ticket database to find tickets that meet your needs. Purchase your tickets if you find ones that you want.
