Create A Pro Golf Resume
-
1
Get certified. While this may not seem essential if you have been playing for quite a while, it still has weight when you're trying to create a pro golf resume. If you hold certifications or special achievements from certain places, such as the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America (PGTAA), make sure you include the reference in the resume.
-
2
Highlight your achievements. Whether it's tournaments you have won or workshops you have coached, showing that you have a track record can do wonders to help establish you as an expert and to make your pro golf resume stand out. Even if your past achievements seem small to you, showing a detailed list will let the reader know how serious you are about the career.
-
3
Mention your score only if it's impressive. Otherwise, it may be better to leave it out. If you beat a previous record or achieved something memorable at a particular tournament or course, make note of it when you create your resume. The same is true if your score matches that of a famous golfer and you want to take advantage of the connection by mentioning it.
-
4
Include references to any type of equipment you are able to handle aside from the obvious. If you can work course-maintenance equipment or know how to tune a golf club, note it in your resume. Most pro golfers never have a need to do any of these activities themselves, but it may impress a reader to see that you care enough about the sport to learn things that are not directly connected to playing.
-
5
Make a list of all golf prizes and championships you have won, starting from childhood if necessary. Showing how you have progressed through the years and how you have reached new levels of professionalism is impressive enough, even if some of the prizes are not spectacular.
