1
Check the rosters of the other teams. If you can identify a team that is lacking in an area in which you have some expendable players, you may be able to pull off a good trade. Since the other team owner may be desperate to fill the void he has on his team you will be dealing from a position of power. Offer to help the other team fill the area where they are lacking, but at a high price. When making a trade from a position of power always look to get two good players back in return for the one that you traded away.

2
Call the team owner that you want to trade with on the phone. Calling the other owner will help the trade go through because people have a hard time saying no over the phone. It is easy to say no to a fantasy trade by e-mail, but not as easy when you are actually talking to someone on the phone, according to Advanced Fantasy Baseball. Discuss the specific players that you are willing to trade, as well as the players that you want from them, and try to wrap the deal up on the spot. In fantasy baseball negotiating trades can often take days if done by e-mail. Over the course of these days players can gain or lose value which can stop the trade from happening.

Improve the teams that face your competition. By trading with, and strengthening, the teams that play your toughest competition you will be ensuring that they do not have an easy time winning. If your competitor's schedule and your schedule share a few common opponents, you should only look to improve the teams you do not play. Seek value in the players you acquire to ensure that the trade is a good one for you too. Make sure not to give up more value than you get back when strengthening other teams or you will be weakening yourself.
