How to Beat a Good Baseball Team

1
Scout your opponent thoroughly during its other games to learn its strengths and weaknesses. Use the knowledge gained to develop strategies to use against your opponent.
-
2
Manage the baseball team in a way that plays to your team's strengths while exploiting the opponent's weaknesses. This can be done in numerous ways, such as having your fastest hitter bunt the ball towards a player who is playing too far back to make the play. If the other team's catcher does not have a good arm, become aggressive on the base paths by having your runners attempt to steal bases. Walk their best hitter to get to an easier out in the next hitter.

3
Play good defense. This starts with having your best pitcher face the best teams. Make sure you know what kind of pitches the other team's hitters like and pitch to their weaker hitting zones. Your team's players in the field must catch the ball and make every play they can possibly make. Force the opponent's offense to score by not helping them with poor plays in the field. Your defense must keep errors to a minimum, if not eliminate them, to beat another good team.

4
Put the ball in play. Strikeouts are killers for an offense; the hitters must put the ball in play. The hitters at the top of the order will need to get on base often. They must also get some help from other hitters lower in the order in order to score many runs against the defense of a good team. Utilize your hitters' strengths. Have a fast player attempt a bunt and have a power hitter behind him in the batting order drive him in with a hit.

5
Keep the pressure on a good team. A good team may not be used to close games. By staying close or taking the lead, the pressure mounts on the other team and forces it into making mistakes.
